Our Mission
Our Mission is to ensure Positive outcomes and Limitless Possibilities in social services for our clients, their families, and the communities we serve.
According to the Boston Indicator Project, nearly 50,000 families with children under the age of 18 in Boston are headed by single parents.
Of those in poverty, 87% of families are headed by single parents.
93% of African-American and 97% of Latino families in poverty are headed by as a single parent.
Low-income non-custodial guardians face many systematic barriers to consistently engaging and bonding with their children who are involved with the child welfare and juvenile justice system.
Disenfranchised black fathers in particular face insurmountable obstacles, including securing employment post-incarceration and unfavorable court systems. Many of these men do not receive the mentoring and mental health services needed to nurture fatherhood and continue to maintain positive relationships with their children.
Our mission is to ensure Positive outcomes and Limitless Possibilities in social services for our clients, their families, and the communities we serve. We serve as the bridge between:
Disenfranchised non-custodial guardians seeking the guidance and mentorship needed to become better parents.
The child welfare, and juvenile justice, and child-support enforcement agencies seeking safety, permanency, and financial security for the children in their custody and care.
Our holistic approach to re-engage low-income parents aims to reduce the timeframe for reunification and establish permanency.
We provide transportation for children to and from the designated visit location, to streamline the visit process and reduce the burden on the Child Welfare system. Our visit coaching prioritizes the strengths of the family and the needs of the children by empowering parents to be more communicative, responsive, and engaged.
